Step-on Services
Our most popular step-on service is the Cape Arago Tour that includes Simpson’s Reef Overlook (with great views of seals and sea lions), stunning Shore Acres, and a Beach Walk. Further, your group will learn about the area’s interesting natural and human history on the drive over—we’ll meet up at the local hotel or other spot of your choice.
Other options are available, including ones that showcase most of our featured habitats, and our experienced staff can help you plan your visit.
Evening Beach Event
A relaxing fire on the beach, a leisurely stroll to explore the shoreline, a sand sculpture—perhaps even dinner…
We’ll provide the firewood, and will build, start, tend, and put out the fire. (You won’t have to worry about any of the fire details.) We’ll even provide roasting sticks and marshmallows!
We can arrange for a catered meal at market price (at an additional fee); we can accommodate groups up to 40. Planning on a potluck? We can provide a table for set up. (If you’d like, we can supply grocery-lists and assistance for making foil-packet meals to be cooked in the fire.)

Other Presentations
Short indoor presentations for groups
Perfect for group lunches and conventions, these half-hour to one-hour indoor presentations are both entertaining and interesting. In a variety of topics, each presentation is about 45 minutes long, but can be shortened or stretched a bit to meet your group’s needs. (Most are PowerPoint presentations, but other media are often available; no limit on group size. Contact us for details.) Topics currently include:
- thumbnail sketch of regional natural history
- thumbnail sketch of local human history
- “Where Am I?,” a general overview that includes both natural and human history, plus local amenities

Longer presentations and special-interest workshops
An hour or more long, these highly-customizable presentations and workshops may include interactive elements and field trips. (Group size limits vary according to customized details. Contact us for more.) Topics currently include:
